First stages of Turkish Mechanical Industry Platform, established in order to contribute to development of Turkish Machinery Manufacturing Sector with other sub-sectors, and to include sectoral organizations, which will be effective in formation of machinery industry and all relevant sectoral policies and implementations, development of the sector in the course of EU integration period with sub-industry, and strengthening thereof in global competition, within its structure by means of a broad and democratic participation, were commenced at the beginning of the year 2007.

Views in terms of platform were exchanged, relevant collecting societies were visited by the General Secretariat of Central Anatolian Exporter Unions for the purpose of execution of the protocol, and as a result of execution of the protocol by 27 Societies, Associations, Chambers and Organized Industry Region, establishment efforts of Turkish Mechanical Industry Platform were concluded on the month of July of the year 2007. The first Board of Presidents meeting of the platform was realized on the date of November 5, 2007.

We believe that the support, which is given by member organizations by participation in works and activities to be conducted under Turkish Mechanical Industry Platform, and by assumption of tasks, and which will be sustained, will contribute to development in Turkish Machinery Sector, which is the primary leading sector in Turkish economy, and which has set an example to other sectors with export performance in recent years.

Manufacturing quality of Turkish Machinery Sector, development of advantages such as taking place in international markets, and proficiency in marketing when compared to those of other countries, and holding the position, to which it is entitled, in global markets, depend on removal of obstacles in front of the sector. Turkish Mechanical Industry Platform, established on the basis of joint effort, will be effective to a great extent in terms of elimination of the said obstacles.
